The Goddess Grove, Matakana Bed and Breakfast offers accommodation in a private studio.
If staying at a property by a forest with beautiful views from an escarpment out over the Matakana Valley and to distant sea and islands appeals we’d love to hear from you.
Room Rate $200 to $210. April / May / September bookings are charged at $200 per night, at all other times $210 per night. Min 2 nights, T's&C's apply, see below.
Studio contains Queen bed, fridge with kettle, toaster and microwave, plates, glasses and cutlery, a toilet and sink To use a fulsome bathroom facility walk a few metres into private area inside house with guest dedicated shower and a second toilet. Please note, there are no food prep facilities, your No Cook breakfast is provided however you have the ability to re-heat takeaways in studio. Matakana and surrounds provide plenty of eat in options for lunches and dinner for all budgets.
We provide juice, tea, coffee, milk and granola to start your day.
In warmer weather guests are welcome to relax in the observation area beside the Olive Grove which has breathtaking panoramic views. For those seeking relaxation or a touch of leisure, the adjacent petanque court provides an inviting space for a friendly game.

Situated in a picturesque setting The Goddess Grove, Matakana Bed and Breakfast is located 1 hour from Auckland CBD. Matakana boasts a village with pub, cinema, shops including pharmacy, clothing, op shop, chocolatier, Saturday markets, Sunday market at the Country Park, access to stunning beaches such as Omaha and Pakiri, Tawharanui, Scandrett's Regional Park, restaurants for all budgets in the Village and surrounds, craft breweries, cafes (we highly recommend Goose), art studios, Sculptureum, Brick Bay Sculpture park, vineyards and spaces to walk in serene countryside galore or you can just curl up with a book whilst here and let life go by. ,
Meet Your Hosts
Hi we are Ann and Craig.
We’re the quirky brains and the grounded brawn behind The Goddess Grove, Matakana Bed and Breakfast located at 671 Matakana Valley Road, one of the last retreat properties in Matakana where we live with our fur and feather family.
It has taken some years to bring the dream of owning this BnB to Earth.
The Goddess Grove, Matakana is still in process of being created.
By naming our home "The Goddess Grove," we appreciate this space on Mount Tamahunga under the vastness of the sky, surrounded by trees. Every year right on cue the fruit grows, the flowers bloom, the trees turn golden and then the frogs let us know it's Spring again. We are just the mortals who are lucky enough to enjoy it.
